How it started

Authentic Filipino food, from our own kitchen

01

Filipino meat products made from 100% Canadian meat

Sagana started as a manufacturer of authentic Filipino meat products made from 100% Canadian meat — Jumbo Juicy Hotdogs, Cheezylicious Hotdogs, chicken hotdogs, sweet tocino, longganisa, tapa and kikiam — supplied to Asian grocery stores and restaurants. Our goal is simple: share the best-tasting Filipino meat products with the Filipino community and native Filipino flavours with everyone. The family also operates Sagana Foods MB in Winnipeg.

02

All-day silog breakfast, lomi & sisig in SE Calgary

Our Calgary shop, opened around 2023, puts those same products on the plate: all-day silog breakfasts like Tocilog and Longsilog (garlic fried rice and eggs with tocino, longganisa, tapa, hotdogs or bangus), Sizzling Pork Sisig, Lomi Batangas and the generously topped Overload Lomi.

03

Halo-halo, Filipino desserts & bubble tea

Finish with halo-halo, ice scramble (iskrambol), buko pandan or turon. In the same space, BubbleUp serves bubble tea made with ingredients originally from Taiwan — Brown Sugar Boba, brown sugar matcha and fresh fruit shakes. Dine in, take out, call ahead or order online for delivery and pickup.

I love the Filipino food here it’s honestly some of the best in the city! If I had my own Michelin list, this place would definitely be on it. Ate and kuya are so humble and kind, which makes the experience even better. I always order the overload lomi because the toppings are generous and so delicious. Honestly, not just the lomi. I’ve also tried the sisig with fried rice and egg, and I’d say it’s the best. For dessert, the halo-halo and ice scramble are my top two picks so, so good! Everything is very affordable too. Definitely check it out you won’t regret it!

Sagana Foods in Calgary is a great place for Filipino food. Their sweet tocino, longganisa, and hotdogs taste just like the ones back home. Everything is fresh and full of flavor. They also serve tasty bubble tea - my favorite is the brown sugar matcha. The halo-halo is really good too. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time. It’s a small, local shop with a warm vibe. If you’re craving Filipino food or want to try something new, Sagana Foods is definitely worth a visit!

Sagana Foods - manufacturer of quality deli (hotdogs and traditional Filipino marinated meats) offer Silogs all-day. Silog is short for Filipino term that means garlic fried rice plus egg (sinangag-itlog). We ordered the bangus (marinated crispy milkfish), tapa (garlicky beef), pork tocino (sweet pork). The sizzling pork sisig was perfect in taste and texture during our visit. True picker-upper! Ate Loi helped us with the smile althroughout. Washrooms were clean and had a Koala! The fresh mango shake was also made dairy-free for us. We will come back!
